| Current Events and Up-Dated Biography
2004
At a music show in Shelby, Ohio Jim & Bev met, started dating, and a year later were married. Some of their common interests were country music, singing, and a strong Christian background. Bev's past singing experience was mostly church choir, but she quickly adapted to the stage performances and recording. Jim has played through the years in several professional tour bands and enjoys playing several instruments.
The vocal harmonies that Jim & Bev produce singing together have caused them to book singing engagements all over the northern Ohio area. Some engagements are Jim & Bev and a guitar only, and some engagements are with their whole band "Wild Horses." Whether it be singing a mixture of classic country, bluegrass and gospel, or gospel only, they enjoy performing and meeting new people everywhere they go.
2006
Jim & Bev made several out-of-state trips to Nashville, Branson, and Renfro Valley. Jim currently has 5 CDs available and is working on a duet CD project. Biography
I was born August 13th, 1952 in Willard Ohio. My parents were Joe & Betty Lillo. I have a younger sister and a older sister. I grew up with my mother playing piano, and Dad struggling with the banjo. Sundays after church almost always ment relatives visiting and some sort of music jam session.
I started piano lessons about the same time I started 1st grade and continued to take lessons till graduation. Bach and Beethoven never held my interest as much as Johnny Cash and Merl Haggard did.
A 1971 graduate of Willard High School, Jim started his first musical group "The Green Expressions " in high school. Jim's first group played area parties, reunions, fairs, and festivals all over Ohio. Shortly after high school, Jim started teaching guitar lessons at a local area music store. One day the store owner told Jim " Your banjo student will be here at 5:00!" Jim said,"That's nice, but I don't play the banjo." The store owner said "Oh that's no problem, just get a banjo teaching book off the shelf and stay one lesson ahead of the student and you'll be fine!" Before he knew it, Jim was teaching 11 different musical instruments. In the early 1980s Jim and his new band "The Brandy Band"
( Jim on Stage Loudonville Ohio Opry Show)
had their first 45 rpm record release, a self-penned song entitled, "What You See Is What You Get" and " I Don't Love You Anymore," which received local area radio air-play from WNCO Ashland, WTTF Tiffin, WMRN Marion, WCPZ Sandusky.
Jim also played a "live" radio broadcast for WNCO and WTTF. Over the years, Jim has entered and won several singing contests and in 1980 and 1981 had the proud distinction of winning for the state of Ohio,"King" of country music for the Ohio Country & Western Music Association. Jim then signed with a professional promoter and booking agent, John Moore Entertainment Inc., which was based out of Columbus, Ohio.
Jim played stage shows all over Ohio and was able to be an opening act for such musical greats as: Johnny Cash, Little Jimmy Dickens, Teresa Brewer, Bobby Goldsboro, Sha-Na-Na, and Jimmy C. Newman. Jim's career started in the 60s and is alive and well today.
